Rev. Marcus Turner



Rev. Marcus Turner is the son of George and Bettie Turner and is the youngest of two children. He is married to the former Ms. Olga Ashby.

 

Rev. Turner served as an associate minister of The First Baptist Church of Radford, Virginia where Rev. Corwin Casey is pastor. He is the former pastor of Wake Forest First Baptist church, Blacksburg, Virginia where he pastured for nine years (1993-2002).

In September of 2010 Rev. Turner joined and is now an associate minister of Hill Street Baptist Church, where The Rev. Dr. Johnny R. Stone is pastor. He was called to the ministry and preached his trial sermon at The Shiloh Baptist Church, Rockville Centre New York, under the pastorate of Rev. Reginald Greene in 1987 and continued to serve under the pastorate of Rev. Herman Washington.

Before his call to the ministry he served as a junior deacon, usher, male chorus member, Sunday School teacher and director and organizer of the Shiloh Youth Mass Choir. He also served as an assistant financial secretary in the Eastern Baptist Association Maggie B. Greene Youth council.

Rev. Turner was educated in the West Hempstead, New York School system. After graduation he then attended New York Institute Tech and then continued his studies at Elizabeth City State university, Elizabeth City, NC before attended and graduating from The New York Theological Seminary.

Rev. Turner is constantly on the road, Sunday after Sunday, doing what he loves most, preaching about the one he loves – Jesus Christ.

He live by Psalm 51 Verses 16-17 – Create in me a pure heart O God, and renew a steadfast Spirit within me.

The sacrifice of God are a broken Spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
