Reverend Tyler, a native of Charlottesville, Virginia, he was called on February 24, 2008, to the Pastorate of the Historic Mount Rock Baptist Church in Goode, Virginia, a year to date after his initial sermon was preached at Central Baptist Church under the Pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. Joseph A. Keaton.
On October 25, 2010, Reverend Tyler accepted the call to the Pastorate of the Main Street Baptist Church in Clifton Forge, Virginia and preached his first sermon on Sunday, December 5, 2010. The Church grew financially, numerically, and spiritually. In January of 2020, Reverend Tyler accepted the Pastorate of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Low Moor, Va., where they had a spirit filled service every 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.
In November of the Covid -19 Pandemic year 2020, Reverend Tyler was called and Accepted the Pastorate of the Hill Street Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia and Preached his first Sermon on December 31, 2020. In the short time since coming, the church has grown numerically, financial but most of all spiritually.
Reverend Tyler is the Past President of P.I.C.A. (Pastors Interdenominational Christian Alliance) of Alleghany and surrounding counties. He is the Past President of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Roanoke, Salem, Vinton and Southwest Virginia, a former Board Member of TAP of the Alleghany Highlands, former State Director of the Virginia Baptist State Convention’s Youth Department and Former Vice Moderator of the Berean Valley Association.
Reverend Tyler is currently the Statistician of the Virginia Baptist State Convention. Reverend Tyler was elected “Pastor of the Year” for the Virginia Baptist State Convention 2019-2020.
Reverend Tyler is employed by the Kroger Corporation as a Meat Cutter and at Serenity Funeral Home as a Funeral Attendant. He has attended Richmond Virginia Seminary and currently enrolled in Liberty University Online Program.
Reverend Tyler has three children he has raised as his owned, daughters De’Andra, Cydney and son Shawn.
